A pedestrian bridge (JPO) that connects to Tanah Abang Train Station with Tanah Abang Block G Market, will be built in the near future. It is aimed to parse traffic congestion.
"The entrance remains in front of the station, but the exit must pass the JPO and go down in Block G Market," said Mayor of Central Jakarta, Mangara Pardede, Tuesday (1/13).
JPO Galur Needs MaintenancePardede hopes residents can also contribute in maintaining and use the JPO well. Because if there is congestion, they who will suffer losses.
"Residents should have the awareness of traffic. Don’t use the easiness reason get out of the station to ride motorcycle taxi and public transport. If congestion happens, they will feel the losses," he stated.
Besides that, he furthered the raid against public transport and motorcycle taxi that often stop or pick up passengers in front of Tanah Abang Train Station.
"We've instructed Transportation Sub-Department and Satpol PP to do raid and surveillance. If not, the congestion will be rampant," he exclaimed.
As known, Tanah Abang Station is always crowded with public transport and motorcycle taxi. The condition is worsened with many city buses turn around carelessly. No wonder, congestion cannot be avoided.
